Job Description
The Program Manager works within the Engineering Department and is responsible for facilitating the design, procurement processes and construction of major capital building and drainage works. This position will also be responsible for developing the long Capital Works Program and determining resourcing requirement to ensure maximum delivery of the Annual Program and management of the specialised Project Management and Contract Administration Team.
The key areas of this role are:
- Provide departmental management of the Projects Department that forms part of Engineering Services and operate as a senior specialist that provides multifunctional advice to various departments of Council
- Develop and manage the long term (10 year) Capital Works Program ensuring that project planning, scoping design and costings are prepared and review against resourcing plans to ensure program can be delivered;
- Manage the required procurement processes to secure suitable service providers to undertake designated works including detailed reports to Senior Management and/or Council as required by policy;
- Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives;
- Provide strategic direction in the review and update of Council Tendering, Contract Management and Procurement policies and procedures.
We are looking for someone with:
- Project management qualification or relevant
- A large amount of experience in project management
- Senior management experience
- Currents driver’s license
An attractive remuneration package in the range of $106,215 - $112,919 is on offer based on experience, plus 10% superannuation. This position is full time and entitled to a rostered day off each month.
