About the roles

Due to exceptional growth and success, the RPS Project Management team are seeking highly motivated and qualified client-side Assistant Project Managers, who have previous experience in successfully delivering projects within Defence or similar government Agencies. The positions may be embedded within Defence and Project Management/ Contract Administration (PMCA), spanning across a range of Defence areas including Estate Planning, Capital Facilities and Infrastructure, Air Force HQ, Army HQ, and Navy Capability. We are specifically seeking candidates with experience in Building and Construction and Infrastructure. Candidates with Information Communications and Technology (ICT) and the CASG Capability Life Cycle are also encouraged to apply. Based in Griffith, Canberra, this fast-paced busy team are a market leader in project management, who specialise in the delivery of large complex projects.

About you

  • Professional Qualification in architectural, engineering or similar is desirable. Candidates with experience in Computer Science, Integrated Logistics, Software/Hardware and Security Architecture and or Systems and Software engineers will also be considered.
  • AIPM Certified Practising Project Manager certification or equivalent would be an advantage;
  • 1-2 years client-side experience as a PM/CA in the above-mentioned industries (preferable, but not essential) and familiarity with Commonwealth Procurement Rules;
  • Previous project experience in Building and Property/Construction and Infrastructure in areas such as Construction, Leasing, Property Management and Contract management;
  • Previous experience across Defence, including Defence writing skills;
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;
  • Some experience managing small teams and developing client relationships;
  • Proactive and able to think strategically;
  • Conflict resolution skills;
  • Inclusive nature and a desire to learn;
  • Strong finance, budgeting and forecasting skills;
  • An understanding or experience with a range of delivery methodologies, for example, Head Contract, Managing Contractor and Design and Construct;
  • Contract and Procurement knowledge (including ASDEFCON template);
  • Able to manage and support multiple projects;
  • Familiarity with project scheduling, monitoring and reporting; and
  • Able to successfully obtain and maintain a minimum Baseline Security Clearance.
