The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is an independent statutory authority established by the Australian Government to maintain an impartial and independent electoral system for eligible voters through active electoral roll management, efficient delivery of polling services, and targeted education and public awareness programs.
The AEC’s values and commitments
The AEC values and commitments are an essential component of our operating environment and frame how AEC staff work. The AEC's focus is on electoral integrity through the values of quality, agility and professionalism.
Elector and Roll Services sits within the Delivery and Support Branch and is responsible for managing the key operational aspects of the program to keep almost 17 million Australians correctly enrolled on the Australian Electoral Roll. The team works very closely with the IT section and other areas of the AEC to ensure that the systems are fit for purpose for the delivery of the program.
The Section also contains other teams who are responsible for key election delivery projects such as postal voting, contact centre and certified list scanning and it is expected that the successful applicant will have an involvement in those projects, particularly at election time.
