The role will support implementation of the Victorian Government's commitment to repeal the offence of public drunkenness and its replacement with a health-based approach to managing public intoxication. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in this historic reform. The Senior Project Officer, Public Intoxication Health Response, will support establishment of a new public health model for supporting people found intoxicated in public, including the development of protocols for first responders, establishing a new state-wide network of sobering services and embedding Aboriginal cultural safety and awareness across the service system.
